Every teacher wants to inspire their students with strong lessons and effective practice exercises. In reality, however, creating these takes a lot of time and energy. That’s why we put all our expertise and experience to work to support teachers, so they can focus on what truly matters: high-quality education.

Through our work, we contribute to our mission to help every child grow. You will become part of a driven and dedicated team with one clear focus: helping teachers develop lesson presentations, create practice materials, review student work, and everything that comes with it.

šŸŽ® What will you do?

You'll have the opportunity to build new features from the ground up and be responsible for them when they go live.

🌟 Your role and impact

  • Participating in planning together with the PO and other colleagues

  • Supporting other colleagues in choosing the right (technical) solutions

  • Taking full responsibility for your features from the beginning to them going live, and beyond.

  • Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability across our backend services.

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and continuously improve our engineering practices.

  • Work on systems that support A/B testing and other experimentation frameworks.

  • Design and implement APIs, services, and data pipelines that enable marketing automation and personalization.

Our stack is:

  • Python back-end

  • React front-end 

  • Deployed on Google App Engine 

  • Using MYSQL and Redis.

Job requirements

šŸ”„ Who are you?

You're a passionate developer who has worked previously in a Senior position, and you enjoy working in an Innovative, agile environment. You believe in making education better for children and can bring fresh, new ideas to the table.

  • You know your way around the development space and have been in a Senior Developer position previously.

  • You have exceptional analytical problem-solving skills

  • You have experience with automated tests and a solid understanding of common design patterns

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

  • The ability to write clean, maintainable code, following standards and guidelines

  • You're a team player and can work with multi-disciplinary teams

  • A thorough understanding of relational database concepts and practices

  • Have extensive experience building APIs

  • Solid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL

  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms is a strong plus
