Squla is looking for an Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure the quality of our products through automated and exploratory testing.

QA Engineering responsibilities include designing and implementing acceptance tests for web and mobile applications and debugging and triaging issues. Squla is at the early stages of formalizing the acceptance testing process and you will get to play a major role in defining how QA is done in the future.  The QA Engineer role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. You will also be involved in the early stage of feature development to provide inputs on high level test scenarios, challenges and risks and inputs to development to ease the acceptance testing. You will also convert these acceptance tests into automated tests.

What you will do:

  • Help design testable and high quality features
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products
  • Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of quality
  • Create comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Design, develop and execute automated tests
  • Help identify, debug and prioritize bugs found in live environment
  • Perform regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Track quality assurance metrics and provide insights to product owners and developers.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Job requirements

What you will need to thrive in this position:

  • Work experience in software development
  • Work experience in software quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing in web frontend and API
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing of mobile app testing (Unity experience is a plus)
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and any programming languages like Python and/or Javascript
  • Hands-on experience with testing distributed systems
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
