Futurewhiz is the maker of popular, online learning platforms Squla and WRTS and market leader in online education for children. It's our mission to empower children to grow through education, by fueling their curiosity for knowledge, boosting their confidence and cultivating a lifelong love of learning through games and experiences they enjoy in their daily lives. 

Across platforms, we are now supporting more than a million children to learn. As we are scaling, we aim to double this reach in the next two years. The Head of People will play a crucial role in realising these ambitions through recruiting, developing, motivating, stimulating and coaching talent. Squla is an online learning platform that helps kids in primary school to learn in a fun way. Squla offers an amazingly fun and educational learning program and features thousands of interactive games, quizzes and activities for all curriculum subjects and more. With over 150.000 users at home and 600.000 at school, Squla is a favorite for kids, parents and teachers.

WRTS is an online platform to learn words and terms. With WRTS, students in secondary education can study words in different ways and test their knowledge with e.g. spelling or dictation. With over 300.000 users, WRTS has been the go to platform to learn words for students and teachers for over 15 years. 

Your role

As our Head of People, you’ll be leading the HR, recruitment and operations team (3 people currently). You will be in charge of the overall office atmosphere, maintaining and growing our company culture, organizational planning (governance, OKRs etc.), compensation and benefits, employee happiness and engagement, performance management, training and development.

You will be part of the leadership team - together with CEO, Head of Squla, Head of WRTS, and Finance Director - and will report to the CEO. As such, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s people strategy as well as contributing to the overall direction of the company.

Job requirements

You are passionate about our products and ideally:

  • have 6+ years experience in HR (e.g. HR generalist or business partner roles);
  • have high energy and a getting things done attitude mixed with a big dose of empathy and great people skills;
  • have proven experience in change management, organizational development, training and leadership coaching and compensation topics;
  • have knowledge of Dutch labour law;
  • are fluent in English and Dutch both spoken and written

  • have experience with working in a tech and/or scale-up
