We are looking for someone that can help us build a great e-learning platform! Are you a recent graduate or already have made your first years of work experience with the aspiration of becoming a Ruby programmer? Besides being a good programmer, do you also have a feeling for the e-learning market? And do you want to help children and students to give them the tools they need to study fast and efficient? Then we are looking for you!
FULL-TIME · AMSTERDAM
“Every child wants to pass and succeed. We help you in this, online in every possible way.”
For years, WRTS has been the largest and best-known e-learning program in the Netherlands! Our tool is originally used to learn words so you can easily master a new language, but now also has support for non-language subjects (like Math). With 400.000 users per month, we have already been making sure everyone can study for their test quickly and easily for over 15 years. Our users are mainly in middle/high schools (12 to 15 years).
We have a pleasant team of 13 people who are all helping to improve the platform for our users. We talk a lot with our target group to see how we can get a little better every day. There is a lot of room for (creative) input and we are therefore looking for someone who is enthusiastic about our product and our next steps. We want to improve education and believe that the use of digital learning tools will increase more and more in the near future.
It is up to us as a team to let users learn as quickly and effectively as possible!
In this role you will get the opportunity to work within a team of 6 great developers who are building the WRTS platform. For the near future we already created a cool roadmap for the new developments in the WRTS platform. You will work in a small team of developers (about 3 developers per project), working closely with our Product Owner and UX/UI designers, using agile scrum methodology with 2-week sprints.
Your typical day at work will involve:

The Futurewhiz office is located in a beautiful office on Prins Bernhardplein, close to the centre of Amsterdam. We work hard, play hard and we have a lot of fun and foster an informal yet professional atmosphere.
The WRTS crew is a dynamic team that is enthusiastic about creating the most effective and efficient new way of learning in this ever-evolving digital age. We believe that a positive and energetic, yet relaxed, work environment not only encourages great teamwork, but is key to motivating our team to produce high quality products. We provide our team members with the resources they need to make sure they can do their jobs properly and get the results we aim for. Although our team is diverse and everyone brings their own interests and uniqueness to the table, every single person is excited about the great work WRTS is doing. Oh yeah, and we do have a pingpong table ;)
